Texas State University System, Indeed launch partnership to advance careers

The Texas State University System (TSUS) and Indeed have launched the first ever partnership between a university system and the Indeed Job Search Academy, a free virtual training platform that focuses on job searching content and career planning resources. 
Through this partnership, Indeed and TSUS’s seven member institutions (Lamar University included), have developed co-branded web pages that provide students and alumni with access to various workshops and webinars, a job search platform, company pages, a career guide, and salary tools. 
“We are so excited to be a part of the first TSUS rollout with Indeed's Job Search Academy,” said Haley Tyson, director of the Lamar University Center for Career and Professional Development. “This partnership adds valuable resources, webinars, and tutorials for our students, graduate students, and alumni. We care about career readiness, and our goal is to ensure that our students are confident and prepared for the workforce.”
The Job Search Academy focuses on five key skills: job searching, resume writing, interview preparation, job offer evaluation, and career direction.
“We are proud to be the first university system to partner with Indeed to improve and advance career opportunities for our students and alumni,” TSUS Chancellor Brian McCall said. “TSUS leads the state in the percentage of graduates working in Texas one year after graduation, and we plan to build on this achievement through innovative partnerships like Indeed’s Job Search Academy.”
