Coastal Welding sold to AWG

May 1, American Welding & Gas, Inc. (AWG) announced the purchase of Coastal Welding Supply and Specialty Gases, along with the Southeast Texas company’s more than 200 teammates, according to a press release attributed to AWG CEO Jason Krieger. Krieger stated that his company is thankful to the Mazoch family for choosing AWG, and clients can expect little to change in the coming days.

“Our cultures are similarly aligned,” Krieger said of how Coastal fits with the climate of AWG. “We are committed to our people first and foremost, knowing that they are the foundation of our success and future. We are committed to growth, our communities in which we serve, and our independence.

“We are excited about working together to continue to execute our significant growth plans for Texas and Louisiana. Likewise, we are excited that, in effort to preserve the Coastal legacy, we will be operating in the region as Coastal Welding Supply, an AWG Company, under the leadership of Chuck Mazoch, Tom Johnson and Kevin Adkins, senior vice president of AWG.”

Currently led by Mazoch, Johnson and Barbara (Mazoch) Nelson, Coastal is touted as a high-quality producer and distributor of gases and welding supplies, and known for its operations in the industrial, medical and specialty gas fields.

Founded in 1963, this year is Coastal’s 60th anniversary, as well.
