BBB Southeast Texas will bestow a new title during the highly-anticipated Torch Award lineup, using similar criteria as used to determine Torch Awards for Ethics recipients to name four “Leaders of Industry” in conjunction with the annual event.

Honorees were chosen based on being employed or previously employed in a position within the industrial sector, their community involvement, a record of leading with integrity and displaying a high moral character, BBB announced.

The 2023, Leaders of Industry are: Chad Anderson - Global CTO/Head of Manufacturing, Indorama Ventures; Mike Mustian – Beaumont Complex Manager, ExxonMobil; Mark Skobel – Vice-President & General Manager, Valero Port Arthur Refinery; and Randy Sonnier – Manager Industrial Purchasing, TotalEnergies.

“Our Leaders of Industry recipients exemplify honesty, integrity, and commitment to strong moral character,” BBB Southeast Texas President/CEO Darren Erwin said. “These individuals are worthy of this recognition.”

Other entities worthy of BBB recognition, the group announced, come in the form of finalists for the 25th annual BBB Southeast Texas Torch Awards for Ethics: Bill Clark Pest Control, Inc., The Daws Law Firm PLLC, 5 Under Golf Center, Golden Triangle Internal Medicine & Geriatrics, Monument Roofing Systems, RE/MAX One, Scallon Controls Inc., Triangle Real Estate LLC, Vallmont Remodeling LLC, and Whiteley Infrastructure Group LLC.

“It is a privilege to honor businesses and individuals that operate with honesty and integrity,” Erwin said. “In a time where scams and negativity seem to be in abundance, it is refreshing to witness local companies committed to ethical business practices.”

Additionally, one of Spark Finalists Eastex Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine, Kat’s Korner, and Propel Consulting LLC will be awarded with the trophy, the fifth year it has been awarded, recognizing younger business owners or young businesses “that demonstrate a higher level of character, generating a culture that is authentic in its mission and connection with their community.”

Winners will be announced on the evening of Thursday, June 8, at the Torch Awards 2023: 25th Anniversary Celebration at the Beaumont Civic Center. The event is hosted by BBB’s Consumer Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3), and presented by Title Sponsor, Dragon Industrial Wrap.

The evening will be spent honoring businesses, entrepreneurs and the 2023 Student of Integrity scholarship recipients, previously announced.

“We congratulate each of these Torch and Spark Award Finalists for their unwavering dedication to doing business the right way,” Erwin said, adding emphasis on the student of integrity celebrants. “These students are the next generation of ethical business leaders and each of them possess a strong desire to accomplish great things.”

Torch Award attendees can look forward to browsing a silent auction packed with Southeast Texas and luxury goods, capturing memories with Photobooth321 and Brent Christopher photography, music by the Andre Harness Quartet, a classic American steakhouse-inspired dinner by Chuck’s Catering, and a live auction with auctioneer Scott Droddy keeping the excitement up and the crowd engaged.
