Altus Health to open new emergency center in Lufkin

Altus Emergency Centers announced Wednesday, May 6, that it will expand its operations to Lufkin, Texas, with the construction of a freestanding emergency center.

Flint Hills Resources continues its investment in LSC-PA

For the third consecutive year, Flint Hills Resources Port Arthur has invested in the students of Port Arthur through scholarships at Lamar State College-Port Arthur. Flint Hills Resources presented a $10,000 contribution to the Port Arthur Higher Education Foundation to be used for scholarships in the Process Technology and Instrumentation programs at Lamar State College-Port Arthur. This is the third allocation by Flint Hills Resources, bringing its total contribution to the college to $26,000.

LIT to offer Money Management course

Lamar Institute of Technology’s Workforce Training Department will offer a course on Money Management.

Classes began April 25, and two more classes will be offered on May 16 and 30. Class times are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The class will be held at the Technology Center building on the campus of LIT.

Topics discussed will include how to increase your paycheck by 10 percent or more, the need for insurance, how to write a budget and how to be debt-free in 3-7 years, among others.
