Future process operators train using video game technology

Using 3D software that looks just like a video game on an Xbox One, students at LIT are learning the proper lockout-tagout plant safety techniques virtually — without causing any major damage in the real world.
LOTO EXP is a program that was developed in 2015 by Systran, a process-driven company that caters to hydrocarbon processing industry.

ExxonMobil donates fire truck to LIT

ExxonMobil donated a fire truck to Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) on Wednesday, April 4, to support training at the college’s regional fire academy. LIT’s regional fire academy, which includes three instructional buildings, fire truck and training equipment, was destroyed by Hurricane Harvey floodwaters.
