PayScale names LU a Best Value College for Engineering

Lamar University has been ranked as a best value school for students pursuing engineering as a major by PayScale’s 2017 College ROI report.

 

The annual College ROI report measures the return on tuition investment 20 years after graduation, and this year it ranked LU No. 2 out of more than 500 US colleges. PayScale.com is a website that compiles salary profiles to created the world’s largest pay database.

 

In the past, PayScale ranked Lamar University 11th nationwide for return on investment for engineering majors and 3rd among all public institutions.

ExxonMobil Corp. grants support Lamar engineering programs

ExxonMobil Corp. recently awarded $17,000 in grants to four engineering departments at Lamar University as part of its national program supporting higher education.
“ExxonMobil recognizes the importance of high-quality education for its workforce and makes supporting universities an integral part of its long-term business strategy,” said Srinivas Palanki, dean of Lamar University’s College of Engineering. “We are pleased to be partners with ExxonMobil and appreciate these generous departmental grants.”
