The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce is hosting the State of the City luncheon, with keynote speaker Mayor Robin Mouton, tomorrow, Sept. 8, at the Event Centre, 700 Crockett St. in Beaumont, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Mayor Mouton will update attendees on city activities and information.

Mouton is a lifelong resident of Beaumont and was elected in June 2021. The first African American female elected to the city’s highest office, her experience in public service goes back many years “with a lifelong commitment to the city of Beaumont,” describes the chamber. Mouton retired from AT&T after 32 years of service in 2010. She is a member of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) Union, where she previously served in leadership roles for many of the union programs.

“We are excited to hear Mayor Mouton’s discussion on the city including quality of life, infrastructure, and investments for the future.  Ten city departments will also be represented with information booths and available to answer questions before and after the program,” said Josh Smith, chair of the Chamber Board of Directors and owner of Bill Clark Pest Control Inc.

Members of the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce and the public are invited to attend membership luncheons, including State of the City. Advanced registration is required at bmtcoc.org or by calling the chamber office at (409) 838-6581. Registration for the State of City luncheon is $35 for non-members and $30 for members.

“The chamber would like to thank Title Sponsor: CommonCents Credit Union; Event Sponsor: City of Beaumont; as well as a host of table series sponsors, which are listed at bmtcoc.org,” the organization stated.

The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, a 501(c)(6), serves its members and community as the voice of business, a convener for leaders of influence, a champion for a strong and vibrant community and a provider of opportunities for the business community to connect and grow.
