Chevron Phillips donates funds for welding students

Chevron Phillips Chemical Company in Port Arthur donated $5,000 to the Vidor High School welding program. The money will be used to purchase welding shirts, work boots, welding caps, gloves and any other equipment needed to protect the welding students while learning this trade skill. Without this contribution, many of the students would not be able to participate and wear the industry appropriate work attire in the Career and Technical Education welding program, explained the district, thanking the chemical company for the donation.

ISA Exposition set for Oct. 16

The Southeast Texas Section ISA is sponsoring an exposition for the automation community.
The year’s event, entitled Automation Expo, will be held at the Holiday Inn and Suites Convention Center located on Interstate 10 and Walden Road in Beaumont.  A technical conference with eight sessions scheduled will run concurrent with the expo.  The event is being held Tuesday Oct. 16 from 1-7p.m.
