Natgasoline holds procurement fair

Vendors, contractors and suppliers wait in line to share information on their businesses and learn how to bid on jobs from Natgasoline’s procurement team.

Natgasoline held a procurement fair Thursday, March 19, at the Beaumont Civic Center to educate area busi­nesses on how to do business with the company, which is currently building a greenfield world scale methanol plant in Beaumont. The plant will be the first methanol facility of this scale in the United States and the country’s largest methanol production facility based on nameplate capacity, and construction is expected to be completed in 2017, ac­cording to Laurens Limpens, site man­ager for Natgasoline.

Sabine-Neches surpasses New York/New Jersey port in tonnage shipped

The Sabine-Neches Waterway has surpassed the Port of New York and New Jersey in terms of tonnage shipped in the U.S. Ports National Ranking, ac­cording to an annual report by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Waterborne Commerce Statistics Center.

This makes the Sabine-Neches Wa­terway the third largest port in the U.S. in terms of tonnage shipped. The Sa­bine-Neches Waterway consists of two public ports (Beaumont and Port Ar­thur) and all of the public and private marine terminals between Sabine Pass and the I-10 bridge over the Neches River in Beaumont.
