LSCPA Athletics receives $50,000 donation

The Port Arthur Higher Education Foundation presented a $50,000 matching grant to the LSCPA Athletics Department on Friday, Jan. 27, as the second installment of a year-long fundraising effort on behalf of the program. The college spent the past year collecting donations in order to receive the second $50,000 allotment from the PAHEF, which was presented by President Dr. Sam Monroe to LSCPA President Dr. Betty Reynard. Chevron-Phillips sustains LSC-O endowment

The Chevron Phillips Chemical Company recently presented a check for $3,500 to the Lamar State College – Orange Foundation as part of an ongoing endowment to fund scholarships for students pursuing degrees and certificates in fields related to petrochemical technology. The scholarships may range from $500 to $1,000 and will be available to full-time students who demonstrate academic promise and maintain a GPA of at least 2.5.
