Marvin Hurley Award presented to Chamber's President Jim Rich

Jim Rich wins Marvin Hurley Award from TCCE

Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce President, Jim Rich received the Marvin Hurley Award from the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE), the state association for chamber professionals. Rich was presented with the award at the annual TCCE conference on June 23, held this year in College Station. The Marvin Hurley Award is named after the former Houston Chamber CEO during the 50's and 60's and is considered the highest honor a Texas chamber executive can receive.

You don’t have to look too far to see some significant progress as evidenced by Frank Choufoer’s presentation on May 28 to the Rotary Club of Beaumont. Mr. Choufoer is the President of Natgasoline and he was invited to update us on the progress of his project. They are one permit down with one to go to begin construction of their one billion dollar methanol plant. The permitting process tests the patience of Job but it appears we are a few months away from the start of construction.
