Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce
The dye has been cast, and there is no turning back now. An Executive Search Committee is meeting in earnest to name my successor. The date is set for the end of June for me to step down as the president of the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce. It is a title and role that has been my life for 14 years, so it is a major change for everyone. One of my remaining challenges will be the three or four columns the Beaumont Business Journal will ask me to write between now and then.
Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce President, Jim Rich received the Marvin Hurley Award from the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE), the state association for chamber professionals. Rich was presented with the award at the annual TCCE conference on June 23, held this year in College Station. The Marvin Hurley Award is named after the former Houston Chamber CEO during the 50's and 60's and is considered the highest honor a Texas chamber executive can receive.
