Port Arthur native to open new Cajun restaurant

Port Arthur native Tony Nguyen has become quite the entrepreneur. With two already established businesses in Port Arthur and one in Garden Grove, California, Nguyen is set to open Reel Cajun Seafood Restaurant & Bar at 7500 Twin City Highway.
“We will be a seafood restaurant and bar,” said Nguyen. “From Cajun eats to steaks and burgers for the non-seafood eaters.”
The location of Reel Cajun was once the Twin City Kia car dealership.
“We have a total of 12,000 square foot, and that’s not including our outdoor patio that is 3,000 square foot,” he said. “This is the perfect spot. It is a stand alone building at a very busy intersection.”
Earlier this year, Nguyen opened a restaurant by the same name in January in Garden City in North Orange County, 34 miles south of Los Angeles.
Of course that menu is West Coast style with king, snow and Dungeness crab, yet there is Cajun flair as well with Boudain, Shrimp Brochette, Cajun Eggrolls and gumbo.
Nguyen also has two successful businesses in Port Arthur — Crazy 8’s Family Pool Hall at 1250 FM 365 and Good Times Pub at 3801 Texas 73.
“We hope to be open by the end of June or the beginning of July,” said Nguyen. “My wife and I are truly blessed.”
