BBB announces Laws of Life winners

Better Business Bureau serving Southeast Texas honored 16 Southeast Texas middle school students Thursday, April 20 at the 6th Annual Laws of Life Awards Banquet held at MCM Elegante' Hotel. Over 4,000 students across SETX participated in BBB's Laws of Life Ethics Initiative. Through the Laws of Life Program, Better Business Bureau honors students who convey their own "laws of life" into words.  "The Laws of Life Ethics Initiative is part of BBB's Future Workforce Programming," states Michelle Brewer, the Better Business Bureau's Education Foundation Director.  "This program is designed to ethically impact our community's next generation of consumers and business leaders."

BBB has embraced the Laws of Life initiative as an important component in developing the character of Southeast Texas youth and believes that by writing about the "laws" or values by which young people live their lives, students further their knowledge of, and conviction to, good character. Participating in a writing initiative furthers both academic goals and goals of character education.

BBB's Laws of Life Program is offered to every 6th, 7th and 8th grade student in Southeast Texas.  Thousands of essays are written and submitted, then narrowed down to 16 student finalists whose words truly embrace the meaning of this program.
