Sulzer closes deal for $42 M, acquires local Orange facility

Sulzer, a leading independent service provider for rotating equipment, announced Monday August 4, the completion of an agreement to acquire both Grayson Armature businesses, Grayson Armature Large Motor Division, Inc. and Grayson Armature Orange Texas, Inc., for a price tag of US$ 42 million. The company closed on the acquisition on August 1, making Sulzer one of the largest independent providers for electromechanical services in the Gulf Coast area.

U.S. refineries have been processing record volumes of oil recently, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration's Weekly Petroleum Status Report. Refinery inputs hit a record-high 16.8 million barrels per day (bbl/d) in each of the past two weeks, exceeding the previous record from summer 2005. Refineries in the Midwest and Gulf Coast in particular pushed the total U.S.

Major investment in the U.S.: Air Liquide expands its relationship with OCI N.V. in Beaumont

Air Liquide announced today that it has been selected by Natgasoline LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of OCI N.V., as the supplier of oxygen for its new world-scale methanol plant in Beaumont, Texas. Air Liquide will invest around €90 million (more than 120 million USD) in this high growth area for the chemical industry.
